Welcome to Secret HQ. The North Yorkshire Dales may not seem like the perfect place to find your secret sommelier, but that's exactly what we are. We scour the world's vineyards for great tasting and great value wines to bring to you. Why all the secrecy? Well there's only so much great wine out there. Let the supermarkets and warehouses have their pick of the bland and the boring. We find the great stuff - the varieties that come alive when you drink them. We source direct from vineyards you may never have heard of, tasting and testing to find the bottles that are just right.

And that doesn't mean expensive. Take our Pinot Grigio. We tried over 130 different wines until Peter found this one. Just right, with that lovely hint of ripe grapefruit and a delight to drink - it knocks the others into a cocked hat. Look out for it when it hits the Secret List.

And then there's our Phoenix Red. We've been looking for the Holy Grail - a red you can drink on it's own but that has the substance to carry the flavours to drink with food. We couldn't find one, but we did find an estate near Beziers who would let us get involved in blending a wine that's perfect for both. The result is superb. You'd pay £25 for the same bottle in a restaurant, and over a tenner for anything comparable in the supermarket. And it's yours for just £6.95
